This large original old scroll painting of an elderly oriental couple in traditional dress is mounted on lacquered wood scroll, and is silk backed. This has had extensive professional restoration work done on it, in the lower sections of painting. Very well executed yet unsigned work. 39.5" x 75"

This pattern: 'New Intarsio 8660' was only made for a little over a week in 1929. Due to its similarity to Moorcroft Pormegranite pattern, William Moorcroft threatened to sue Shelley potteries over the use of the pattern and it was discontinued. This rare Shelley vase is 6" in height with no cracks but there is a small chip on the base.
