"Welcome to the Sultan", painted by George Pepper. Oil on board. 1958. Dimensions: 10.5"x13.5", not including frame. To the reverse there is biographical information. Born in Ottawa, he studied with J.E.H. MacDonald and J. W. Beatty in Toronto, going on to study at the Acad?mie de la Grande Chaumi?re in Paris. He was strongly influenced by the Group of Seven. Pepper was an official war artist during World War II.[2] He married artist Kathleen Daly in 1929.[3] The couple visited the eastern Arctic in 1960 to study Inuit art. Pepper taught at the Ontario College of Art and the Banff School of Fine Arts. He was a founding member of the Canadian Group of Painters in 1933. In 1957, he was named to the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts.[2] In 1954 he was one of eighteen Canadian artists commissioned by the Canadian Pacific Railway to paint a mural for the interior of one of the new Park cars entering service on the new Canadian transcontinental train.

Signed pen and watercolour. World famous caricature of Canadian icon, Tommy Douglas by Duncan. MacPherson. Mr. Douglas is portrayed as a "hayseed" in front of the Peace Tower. Including frame the dimensions are 26 inches by 20.5 inches. Macpherson drew for the Montreal Standard and Maclean's Magazine. Tommy Douglas was the first leader of the NDP and introduced universal medical care to Canada.

ORIGINAL oil painting of a Canadian scene by the listed artist H. L. Pinkerton. Pinkerton was a known friend and business associate of Tom Thomson, the iconic Canadian artist. The two friends often painted together and The dimensions of the work are: (including frame) 13,5 inches high and 11 inches wide.

This is an ANTIQUE British DESSERT set in the original presentation box. Combination of mother of pearl handles, silver plate, and sterling silver bezels on each knife and fork. Sterling silver portions of knives and forks are clearly hallmarked as English silver. Blades of knives are silver plated, as are forks. Mother of pearl handles are in good condition.

He was born in 1870 and died in 1931. He was working as an elevator operator when a man saw his drawings in a sketch pad and sponsored his formal studies.

Fritzner Alphonse was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti in 1938. For a great part of his life he was a leather craftsman until people became aware of his great skill as an artist. His work, depicting the life of Haitian women, is exhibited at the Haitian Consulate in Washington, DC and in the Organization of American States (also in Washington, D.C.) This cinnabar vase has a cobalt blue interior with gold accents. Dimensions: 7 inches high. Diameter of vase (at widest point) is 3.5 inches. Small chip by rim. Cinnabar is a red lacquer which is then hand carved by Asian artisans.
